Dorothy Douglas
Ward 7
 
Dorothy Douglas is a native Washingtonian who has been a resident of the District of Columbia all of her life, living in Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8.  Douglas is a former employee of the District of Columbia Public Schools System, a former employee of the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, and proud graduate of the University of the District of Columbia.  Since living in Ward 7 for more than 30 years, Douglas has voluntarily been an active advocate.  She has served as a member of, and has held leadership positions, in several community and social organizations.  Douglas has served as the Chairperson for ANC 7C and 7D.  Her advocacy efforts includes work with the Summer Youth Employment Program, Benning Library, the Deanwood Citizens Association, Deanwood Youth Services, and Marshall Heights Community Development Organization among others.  Douglas is the mother of three, a grandmother of five children, and a former foster parent of four of her very own nieces and nephews.
